Apartment Rue des Grands Augustins - 90

“The apartment is is a beautiful old building, with a great location in the 6th arr. The street, rue des Grands augustines, is narrow, cobblestoned, and very romantic. It is right in the heart of the Left Bank, and the location of some excellent restaurants. The building is entered with a code through tall wooden doors, then an iron gate unlocked with a key leads to a lovely well kept litttle courtyard. The circular stairs were a bit steep up to the third (American) floor, and might not be

good for anyone with mobility or fitness issues. The apartment itself was unlocked with another key, and we were given two sets of keys. The manager *** and his assistants were very cooperative and check in and out were prompt and easy. The security deposit was accepted in a us$ cashiers check, and returned upon check out. The apartment was just as it looked in the pictures. Our family of four, a couple and two young adult daughters, had plenty of space and never felt cramped. The loft (or mezzanine) was fine for two young, thin people. The ceiling might be a problem for a tall person. The three person sofa was large and comfortable, and the armchair by the window was also very comfortable. The dining table and chairs was more than adequate. The wi-fi was good. The bedroom was small but had a comfortable queen size bed, and a dresser. Closets are in the entry hall. When the windows were open the street was a bit noisy at times, such as on Friday night and when the garbage was collected one morning. The girls did not notice any noise from the loft. The bathroom was large and looked newly renovated. The fixtures were white and spotlessly clean. We were pleasantly surprised that although it is described as "ensuite", it did not have to be entered through the bedroom, but is located at the end of a small hall between the kitchen and bedroom. The kitchen was well equipped. We enjoyed our stay and would stay there again. Judith (USA)   June 2013
